Sovereign Computing.
Local AI without the Cloud.
Herizon Linux is an independent, bootable Linux distribution engineered from the ground up for on-device machine intelligence, deterministic shell automation, and uncompromising personal computing. No subscriptions, no telemetry, and zero mandatory cloud dependency.
Built for Sovereign Operators
Most modern operating systems treat local AI as an invasive afterthought or a cloud telemetry bridge. Herizon Linux treats local AI as a controlled, deterministic tool governed entirely by you.
Default AI-Off Architecture
AI inference never consumes CPU cycles or battery in the background unless explicitly toggled on. When turned off, all inference processes cleanly evict from memory and pending buffers are wiped.
Local Controller & 14 Trained Heads
Underpinned by a quantised Qwen3-0.6B Q8_0 CPU backbone paired with 14 specialized neural heads across two backbones and a shared-encoder routing extension. Handles intent classification, parameter extraction, and safety refusal locally.
Grounded Terminal & Command RAG
Shell assistance grounded directly in installed manpages, packages, and local files. Generates typed execution proposals with preview and safety boundaries—never unrestricted, autonomous bash execution.
Offline Application Packs
In addition to the 30 core desktop productivity utilities, the ISO includes 9 pre-cached offline APT packs containing 170 software selections. Install complete development, forensics, audio, and network tools completely air-gapped.
Rock-Solid Debian 13 Base
Built on Debian 13 (Trixie) amd64 with an ultra-lightweight, customizable Xfce 4.18 desktop environment and LightDM greeter. Fast, rock-solid stability with upstream security updates and native Linux package management.
Zero Telemetry & Private by Design
No operating system metrics, keystrokes, clipboard entries, or user files ever leave your machine. No accounts, no advertising IDs, no mandatory phone-home handshakes. Complete offline continuity.
Current Release Verification: 1.1.9-dev
Every Herizon Linux build is pinned against cryptographic SHA-256 receipts and verified in-guest before public distribution.

The Path to the Stable Public Release
We maintain an evidence-gated delivery standard. Here is where the distribution stands on the path to our upcoming stable release.
Milestone 1: Core Base & Offline Architecture
Built Debian 13 (Trixie) base core, integrated offline APT package repository architecture (9 packs, 170 tools), configured custom dark theme, and established default AI-off security isolation.
Milestone 2: On-Device AI & Dual Firmware Boot
Dual UEFI and Legacy BIOS firmware boot qualification verified. Integrated on-device CPU controller with 14 specialized neural heads, 94.76% routing accuracy on frozen benchmark, and hermetic subprocess isolation.
Milestone 3: Installer Hardening & Hardware Validation
Integration of the Calamares persistent graphical disk installer, live USB flashing utilities, and broad x86_64 bare-metal hardware compatibility verification across Intel and AMD platforms.
Stable 1.2: General Availability Release
General availability public release with official installation mirrors, verified cryptographic signatures, complete technical documentation, and long-term stability support.
