Candidate features.
Release evidence.
Engineering snapshot: October 6, 2026. Latest built candidate: 1.2.0-rc1 / R11. Stable release qualification remains open.
The older release pointer still names the historical 1.1.9-dev live ISO. The R11 installed candidate has not been promoted to stable. This page describes a development snapshot and is not a download announcement.
Local AI: what was exercised
An actual installed BIOS guest passed CPU/controller acceptance with Qwen3-0.6B Q8_0: a current cited local-document answer, the trained-head worker, typed observed reads, refusal checks and explicit AI-off model-process teardown. Eleven self-tests passed, including fresh retrieval, preview without dispatch, observed-read receipts, and root/stale/wrong-target/symlink refusal cases.
These are workflow results in a virtual machine, not raw language-model accuracy, physical-hardware qualification or permission to execute arbitrary commands. A previous synthetic development benchmark measured 199 of 210 safe workflow outcomes (94.76%) with zero main-Qwen calls in that specific benchmark. It is a separate historical test and does not describe all AI interactions.
Offline applications: what was installed
All ten capability packs completed in the R11 BIOS guest with APT downloads disabled and external routes absent. The installed package selections were checked against inventory: 226 of 226, comprising 30 core and 196 optional selections.
Packs: office, creative, development, internet, media, accessibility, system, games, science and cybersecurity. Selected local uv, Ruff, Nuclei and Trivy fixtures also passed. Package presence and local fixtures do not establish every application's feature readiness, online feed availability or a general security certification.
The stable release gates
| Scope | Current status |
|---|---|
| R11 installed BIOS installer, cancellation and recommended-password onboarding | Passed in the actual installed BIOS candidate. |
| CPU local controller, eleven self-tests and model teardown | Passed in the actual installed BIOS candidate. |
| Ten offline application packs and selected developer/security fixtures | Passed within the stated disconnected guest scope. |
| Installed UEFI use and password-free installed use | Not yet qualified on R11. |
| Two graceful disk-only reboots and full persistence acceptance | Not yet qualified. A recovery boot does not count as a graceful reboot. |
| Installed signed updates, tamper refusal, native recovery and production update endpoint | Not yet qualified on R11. Earlier disposable update fixtures are separate evidence. |
| Visual and accessibility acceptance | Open. GTK focus contrast needs correction. Recovery service failures are under investigation. |
| Physical hardware, GPU/voice, media flashing and complete readback | Not established by these virtual-machine results. |
| Stable public source/download release | Pending release gates. No stable download is announced. |
Integrated assistance: the next architecture
The approved design calls for a session core that supports the desktop and terminal independently of chat visibility, using the local controller, trained heads, Q-RAG and native per-user .MANIFEST file intelligence. It retains native Tab completion and adds Shift+Tab assistance, with command effects, uncertainty and destructive operations explained.
Implementation is in progress. R11 does not implement this integrated architecture. Candidate controller and retrieval results should not be relabeled as proof that the future design is already complete.
How this snapshot was checked
This summary was reconciled against the current Herizon Linux README and status ledger, the R11 installed-system qualification ledger, actual BIOS CPU/controller acceptance, the offline pack installation receipt, and the restored-theme screenshot receipt. Artifact checks and disposable fixtures were kept separate from installed guest results.
- R11 offline receipt: downloads disabled, external routes absent, ten pack commands completed, exact package inventory checked.
- Installed CPU/controller acceptance: grounded response, typed read, refusal paths, head-worker and AI-off checks.
- Desktop screenshot: actual R11 guest after Greybird-dark restoration; prototype CSS absent. It does not close the visual acceptance gate.
